Gli svedesi Deathstars sono scampati a quella che avrebbe potuto diventare una tragedia: infatti, nella mattina del 25 ottobre, il tour bus su cui viaggiavano ha preso fuoco tra le Alpi austriache.
La band aveva appena preso l’autobus a Graz, in Austria, ed era sulla strada per le due date italiane. Erano circa le 08:00 quando il conducente dell’autobus si è accorto che qualcosa non andava.
Il cantante Andreas Bergh ha dichiarato ad un giornale svedese:
“He asked if the back door was closed, so we went and checked it, it had something to do with the electrical system. All of a sudden he shouted that the bus was on fire.
It only by a stroke of luck that we got out of the bus in time, We could have died in there.”
Sull’autobus viaggiavano 15/16 persone: quelli che stavano dormendo sono stati svegliati rapidamente e fatti uscire dal veicolo che era appena uscito da un tunnel. In pochi minuti la parte posteriore del bus, dove si trovavano la maggior parte delle cuccette, è esplosa causando ingenti danni al rimorchio e distruggendo gli strumenti dei musicisti.
