We caught up with Michael, the band’s soul and historical memory, once again to let him break down this project in his own words.
The record is a bridge between a band in constant development and the roots of uncompromising thrash. Four tracks: two brand-new cuts and two nods to their debut, ‘Fear Of Tomorrow’, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025, here recorded in a new version and a live recording.
This is the introduction of a line-up that, with the addition of Martin Steene on vocals and Frederik Kjelstrup Hansen at the drums, channels the metal assault of the ‘80s into a modern production. This mark a contrast with the previous LP, X, which we covered in our review and interview, and provides a clear distinction from the previous line-up.
The wall of sound anchored by veterans Michael and Peter Thorslund (bass) has found a new balance with René Loua’s guitar work. Frederik doesn’t just hit hard; he delivers technical precision without unnecessary frills. Martin Steene, meanwhile, is a confirmation rather than a gamble: his raw powerful vocals carry that aggression that harks back to the band’s inception.
